The Coastal Trail is a great path that runs past the hotel. You can also follow the trail beyond Hvalstrand and Konglungen.
Grønlia Recreation Area is located on the opposite side of Slemmestadveien with lighted walking trails.

Holmenskjæret (300 m) has a beach, playground, beach volleyball and a soccer field.
Holmen Sports Park (1 km) has an ice rink, soccer fields, tennis and a sports center.
Asker (5 km) is a nice small town with good shopping and good parking.
Holmensenteret (500 m) is a shopping center with some nice cafés and good shopping.
Vollen (7 km) is a charming little village by the sea side with restaurants, cafés and boutiques. Oslofjord Museum in Vollen is located by the Maud gulf where Roald Amundsen built the polar ship Maud. Here you can see exhibitions and hear lectures on boats and different things involving the local marine life. The museum also has a very cozy café.

Hvalstrand Bad (1 km) is a facility that welcomes you to enjoy the good life. The beach is nearby, and from May to September the a la carte restaurant is open. They also host private parties, weddings and company events all year round
Henie Onstad Art Center (8 km) was established in 1968 after a donation from the art collectors Sonja Henie and Niels Onstad. The choice of "art center," rather than "museum," was deliberate, signaling that HOK was to be not only a keeper art, but also a producer of contemporary, experimental art. Bølgen & Moi Restaurant is also located here.
